Hey Jane Clare,

I am almost speechless...BUT after sitting here at the computer for a few minutes, my mind is racing with thoughts!

Last night Uncle Frank and I watched the video of Kristen and Andrew's wedding. Wow..it seems like so long ago. Doesn't it? You were in so many of the clips...smiling your gorgeous smile..dancing the night away with your handsome husband and of course...Uncle Frank and many other lucky dance partners. What fun we had. Smiling that is what you always do! Looking at the video no one would ever know the battle you were about to embark upon....

Now a few weeks later and one chemo down, you are still smiling. You look absolutely gorgeous in your GI Jane look. I love the new look..and the many different wigs...I think you should ask Bill if you can borrow his....now that is a fashion statement in itself....so colorful! Wished we could have been with you to show our support. Know it is here coming from NH along with our love.
You are BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Love, Debbie

I agree with your brother to some extent anyways...but as gorgeous as Sinead is, I think you are so far beyond any such comparisons!!!

Hey, it's only hair besides the best thing is that it grows back!

Thank the powers that be or i'd have huge gaping bald spots across my nut!

In the eighties, i went to my black (she said she wasn't born in Africa so don't call her Afro-American) girl friends hair dresser to get Da Weave! Yea-huh...i went to an Afro-hair supply store and unbeknownst to myself, picked up a pack of Xtra long, ULTRA kinky, black hair...what did i know...?

Anyways, it took like, six-seven hours and my scalp was on fire aching and throbbing. The dude with the Reagan hair style said it was 'cause i had tender white girl skin...

Eyes blurred, head bursting, brain draining and ringing in my ears, I tried to stand up, had to get a look at this masterpiece...i mean all the black chics were like "Mmmm Hmmm girl, youz da bomb"

i looked and FAINTED! probably from the heat, the pain the DARK cramped studio in the basement filled with aerosol fumes... all of the abouve, sideways and beyond! @_@

Well, i couldn't go 'round lookin like Diana Ross Big Hair, so i went and bought...HAIR RELAXER...uh hu, in the Ethnic aisle at Charlene's Pharmacy! CHARLENE'S....it looked like it was from the '60s!

I went home and mixed the potion, applied it then fumes, fire and lots of smoke ensued, OH GAWD, then chunks of my real hair along with chunks of the plastic hair, started falling out...thank the landlord we had a fire extinguisher on hand! o_O

i ran to the shower, too late! and when the H2O hit the noggin... my hair grew 4-6 times in size...the porous "hair" sucked in all the water it could and i found myself grasping for support while screaming out for my sister, Laura!

Well to make a long story just a tad longer, she took me out, sat me down and ripped out what was left....yes a sad, VERY SAD, balding, burnt, smoking few strands on my rash covered cranium!

The relaxer was old and had LYE in it!...so, as I said then i shall say now...NO WORRIES, it's only hair and YES, IT DOES GROW BACK!

I'm so sorry Jack and I missed the party; know you and Gregg are in our thoughts daily. As usual, you are the most inspirational woman under the most tumultuous of circumstances...you ROCK! Altho, I'm not sure I like your red wig...that's my territory!! LOL See you soon, and keep going strong!

Jane Clare,
I expected you to be beautiful with
or without hair. You are stunning!
I can remember coming to the house with Aunt Lorna to help "babysit" you and Billy. We had as much fun as you kids!
My thoughts are with you along your
journey.
Much Love and Many Prayers,
Jeanie
