#2 - DONE!

Hooray - chemo treatment #2 is over! Today went well, I had no major issues to complain about. Many thanks to Lorna and Marlee for keeping me laughing the entire time. Next round - 6/26. I should be totally bald by then which is too bad I am starting to really enjoy my buzzcut. But, then again, it will be totally interesting to see what happens when it starts to grow back! My nurse predicted I should see major hairloss within next two or three days. I will be sure to post my progress through this round. My hope is it is no worse than last go around.

Hi Jane- It is Kelly Brewer, John Carolan's sister. He passed along your link to me, because my mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer on March 11th. She too has finished her 2nd chemo treatment and has two more chemo plus radiation to go through. I just wanted to let you know that you are in our thoughts and I will be sending out my good vibes your way. I also have to say that you look amazing with a black buzz cut. Who knew?? Keep up the positive attitude. You are doing great. :)

Come Saturday Morning,
Thought I'd share our story this am.
I will try to keep it brief and I will be more patient this time, so that it doesn't appear twice (sorry).
When our sons were 3 and 1, husband
John was diagnosed with CML(leukemia).
That remained chronic for a year, almost to the day.During that year he
was treated with an experimental interferon(daily injection). Weekly visits to Mt Sinai was how we spent
that year. When the leukemia began attacking his body it was time for
a BMT bone marrow transplant. Off to Seattle, boys in tow. John
underwent extensive chemotherapy (5weeks) and the TBI total body irradiation before the trip out to
Seattle. On 11/20 he was at what they called "Day Zero" then the
fun began. For 100 days John was watched to be sure the new BM was
doing it's job. His sister, Frances, was his donor. We, the boys and I, were able to take Dad out during the day and return him to the safety of Swedish Center part of Fred Hutchinson Cancer research Center. March of the following year we came home. A few roadblocks remained, but the uplifting and hope that I bring to you today is this, those boys are now 23 and 21!!!! This 11/20th we celebrate 19 years post BMT!!
Aren't we blessed???!!!
Much love and Many prayers,
Jeanie
